Cohiba is the name used by ancient Taino Indians of Cuba for cigars.
Cohiba was created in 1968, as the best mark of Cigars, reserved for diplomatic use only. Starting from 1982 it was offered to the public in three cigar brands (vitolas): Lanceros, Coronas Especiales and Panatelas. Other three cigar brands - Espléndidos, Robustos and Exquisitos were added in 1989 to complete "La Línea Clasica". In 1992 five more cigars brands were added making the "Linea 1492": Siglo I, II, III, IV and V. Its the premier marque with only the finest leaves used in their manufacture. "La Linea Clásica" cigars have a distinctive rich flavour which intensifies as the ring gauge increases. By way of contrast, "La Linea 1492" has a lighter flavour resulting from a different balance in the blend of its filler tobaccos.
